I’m going to cut to the chase here because I know from experience that all people want to know is… how to make that ‘whipped coffee thing’ that’s all over Instagram? I too have spent hours on Instagram over the last 2 months and have seen so many delicious looking coffees that I thought I’d give it a go. So here’s the recipe and method for you to rustle up your own Dalgona Whipped Coffee. I promise it will only take 10 mins TOPS!

Dalgona coffee gained it’s regal status on social media with people sharing their masterpieces as part of the #DalgonaCoffeeChallenge and is now known as ‘quarantine coffee’ (fun fact!) It’s actually thought to closely resemble an Indian drink called ‘phenti hui coffee’ but the difference here is that milk is poured on top of the whipped mixture rather than spooning it on top (I might give it a go…)

whipping the coffee, sugar and boiling water

They definitely are up there with the most aesthetic Instagram drinks and I’ve even seen people make them with macha and strawberry milkshake powder too!

You won’t need any additional ingredients to what’s already in your cupboard – instant coffee, sugar, water and milk. It’s THAT simple and once you’ve had a Dalgona Whipped Coffee, you’ll wonder how you even survived before…
